 Jim brings over 30 years of experience as a professional in the business, behavioral healthcare field and as the co-owner of a professional healthcare corporation. His professional activities have included consultation and coaching services since 1989. He received valuable leadership training as a combat trained military officer while serving in the U.S. Army
Jim is a principal in PERSOMA Management, Inc., a consultation and executive coaching firm located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He views coaching as a partnership that allows the coachee to explore, examine, and assess his or her one’s own strengths, weaknesses, and personal behavioral tendencies and to learn new or adaptive ways of becoming more effective through improved methods. The coachee learns and appreciates the role of leadership within the organization as a system.
Jim is a member of the American Psychological Association and has participated in many professional associations concerned with training, performance, and human resources over the years. As a combat-trained military officer, he was awarded the U.S. Army Certificate of Achievement for establishing the first substance abuse treatment program for 40,000 troops at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Jim was one of three principle authors of a comprehensive multimillion-dollar Federal Community Mental Health Center Grant. Along with his coaching practice, Jim works with a multi-office group psychology practice in Western PA concentrating on employee assistance programs for organizations.
Jim has a liberal arts degree from Washington & Jefferson College and a Masters and a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a noted seminar speaker for many years covering topics in Executive Management, Coaching, and Leadership.
