Name, Title

Gail Finger, Senior Government Partner

Ruth combines her knowledge of the learner’s experience with the identified competencies to develop observable and measurable learning objectives. These objectives are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the training.

By valuing the adult learner’s experiences, she is able to create a trusting, challenging and safety-learning environment. In addition, she uses training modalities that address the right and left-brain learner to provide an interactive learning experience as well as using the reflective process to support the learner in integrating their learning and identifying practical applications.

As principal of Working Life & Teams, Inc., in Columbia, MD, Ruth has worked to develop and implement processes for effective communication within diverse workgroups. She has facilitated dialogue processes to address difficult issues among managers, resulting in trust building and increased efficiency. She has developed and conducted assessment interviews to clarify the business case for diversity initiatives. Her recommendations have led senior leaders to refocus their business strategy to eventually increase market share.

As the Organizational Development Manager and Development Partner for Astra Merck / Astra Pharmaceuticals / Astrazeneca, Wayne, PA, Ruth managed the organizational development process, successfully coordinating project design, implementation and evaluation to meet client needs through effective use of external consultants. She established and implemented the framework for a team-based culture and common language for working together. Ruth spearheaded problem-solving for headquarters and field locations in the areas of team development, change, career management, mentoring and diversity.

Ruth has coached clients in areas of accountability, leadership, performance, effective delegation, improved time management, positive change management, productive internal communications, diversity, self-management, program development and spirituality. She co-facilitates year long leadership program which supports leaders in creating new thinking about leadership and making choices about the quality and integration of personal and professional life.

Ruth earned her M.Ed. from Lehigh University, a M.S. from American University/NTL and a BA from Norfolk State University. She received her certification from the International Coaching Federation and is NTL member and Coach for Life graduate.
